Generally, the purpose of Currency Manipulation is make exports cheaper, which is called devaluing the currency. China and other nations manipulate their currencies, resulting in cheaper goods in the United States, but more jobs producing those goods in China. Currency manipulation is an illegal trade practice under rules of the WTO (World Trade Organization); the Chinese yuan is estimated to be undervalued by about 25% to 40%.
